Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton talks about his 18 years playing in the NFL as a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants. In his memoir Every Day Is Game Day, he shares the highs, and lows, of his life both on and off the field.
When Fran Tarkenton played, defensive linemen were 6'2" or 6'3", slow and fat. Now, defensive linement are 50 pounds heavier, 2 to 4 inches taller, lean and FAST. Great athlete that he was, Fran wouldn't last one game in today's league. This is why the rules have changed; neither team would have enough quarterbacks to last the season.

Will you be rooting for the Vikings this year despite the fact that you hate Brett Favre? How will it feel if the Vikings win the Superbowl with Brett Favre as quarterback?

Can you get Fran to talk a little about how he landed on TV's first *reality show* "That's Incredible"?

How does he feel about Brett Favre's performance so far. You were very harsh in your towards him in past interviews.
If the guy can still play and teams are willing to pay him, why should he stay retired?

Spot on, Mike
Rules are now 'too soft' on the quarterbacks?
