Yeah, she's a self-bestowed charming drunk Texas party princess with chipped toe nail polish. I read The Liar's Club. I'm buying it.
The open-gate of her heart, and her fine intellect, relegate Mary Karr to genius status.Little wonder that her "critics" do not have the breadth to "get" her work.
PLEASE Mary, do not stop writing - I "get" you, and I want your books. I read two of the "good" (newly published)books weekly, and some of my favourites are yours too. eg Pablo Neruda's Isla Negra; Sappho; Celine - I could go on - and on.
Cheers, and thankyou so much for having the courage to reach people like myself - in a little wooden house in a tiny pocket of rainforest.
Ms. Karr, very charming. I'm going down to the pub now.
It all just feels like such a cliche. It seems she's pretty proud of her former bad self. She's trying way too hard to be cool.
I am sorry is it me. Am I just simply tired of listening to creative dysfunction. I can't believe people (including me) find these books attractive. Today we are treated to back to back dysfunctional segments.
This woman is shockingly irritating. You drank, we get it.
I am desperately trying to figure out the point of this interview. Who wants to hear about this during these very depressing times?
