I was born in India and migrated here 8 yrs ago. My husband is American and I cannot tell you how difficult it was for me to get my family to accept him- even though my folks are very well educated. I had family members call me "American" because of this..I struggle with this everyday where I have the core Indian values but I have embraced this wonderful land like my own..
What religion is the author? If she is a Christian would she have had an easier time assimilating in Minnesota.
