According to Nandan Nilekani, India's future depends not just on this economic growth but also on reform and innovation in all sectors of public life. His book, Imagining India, traces the efforts of the country's past and present leaders to meet the challenges of modern India.

"Priest admits to idol worship in churches"
In a revelation that could have widespread ramifications, Father Joseph Menengis, priest of St James Church in Mariyannapalya, Bangalore, confessed before the Justice B K Somashekara Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday that idol worship was being performed in churches to attract Hindus and convert them to Christianity.

There are also many wealthy Dalits in the country. There are many poor Brahmins in the society.

The RSS and the BJP set up temples with Non-Brahmin priests. That doesn't sound "divisive" to me.

I am tired of you always bashing the BJP. You need to get your news from places other than the NYT. You should have on some pro-BJP guests on your show. You are extremely ignorant about the long and complicated history of Indian politics and history. Stop making declarative statements about the BJP unless you have some real facts.
What about Narasima Rao? Didn't he make all of the financial changes needed? And, why has the Sonia Gandhi political machine not given him the kind of credit he deserves.
How does India deal with the Arab/Muslim world? India is more dependent on Arab oil than the USA. How will India secure its energy needs. Nuclear is clearly a piece. But what about transportation fuel? Is it natural gas, plug in hybrids (only viable with enough nuclear plants)
Many kids work very hard to get into the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), which creates the elite technological workers that companies like Infosys rely on.
How will the caliber of students change now that the reservations system will be aggressively implemented at the IITs. This was called "affirmative action" by a Minister of Industry at the Asia Society in NYC 1-2 years ago.
I understand that even if they can't fill the seats with enough "lower castes" those seats can't be filled by qualified students of "upper castes"
