Dear WNYC, please remember many of us who support WNYC also live "upstate".
(North of the Bronx line)
You review NJ and LI occasionally S.I. but almost never upstate.
We are here! It was time for an upstate Senator; give her a chance, please.
People say she is very smart.

How can Kirsten Gillibrand represent the "new brand of politics" that President Obama is pursuing if her father is a well-known lobbyist upstate? Will there be any limitations to his lobbying activities in the future just like what Bill Clinton agreed to, the husband of the senator who vacated the seat?

Your commentator is mistaken; Gillibrand is not the first statewide official to support same-sex marriage. Both Spitzer and Paterson have been outspoken supporters.

Gillibrand sounds like a maverick!
