I came in on Ave Maria, but did not catch the performer/recording. Can anyone tell me who that was? Also, a playlist for the entire show would be awesome!
Sister Rosetta Tharpe in not in the R&R Hall of Fame. She should be, but she's not. That's according to my husband who is on the nominating committee.
I would love it if you could post a playlist of all the songs on today's show. There have been quite a few that I want to download but I haven't caught all the details on artists and song titles.
"Chi Me Frena in Tal Momento" from Lammermoor
Did not catch that from Mr. McKnight, but according to MLK biography "Let the Trumpet Sound" his favorite opera was Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor
McKnight mentioned one of MLK's favorite operas. Did anyone catch what it was? THANKS
I loved Mr. Lopate's interview with Mavis Staples a while back and was touched at how hopeful she sounded when Mr. Lopate suggested to her that it was likely she would be invited to sing at the inaugural. I am so surprised and disappointed personally and for her that she was not invited:

I hope this great singer will at least be mentioned during this segment that applies so strongly to her and her family.
