Great performance! I saw Jason Moran perform his take on Monk's Town Hall Concert, "In My Mind," in Chicago a year ago and it was wonderful. It's nice to get the up-close and personal camera angle here.

Thank goodness for the web cast! My wife heard the show today and I was able to listen tonight. Monk's music is magic. I was on a delayed flight recently from Seattle to New York and the Monk music on my iPod was of great comfort.

Thank you Lenny. The music was nothing less than exquisite - an antidote to what passes for music such as Sheryl Crow (cf. Maureen Dowd today) Monk was far out but he was always swinging and always beautiful. Incidentally. the masterpiece, "Bright Mississippi" was based on "Sweet Georgia Brown."

Great to hear these fabulous musicians playing this wonderful and important music. How often does the mass media even mention Monk's music? Not enough.

And a welcome change to the pop-drivel too often proferred on Soundcheck (sorry Schaeffer.)
