Borat interview with Gore Vidal was hilarious.

It is always interesting to hear a dissenting voice to the consensus reality we are familiar with in the media. Mr. Vidal is one of the better informed voices because he has lived through a lot of our history for the past 80 years or so. Naturally his perspective will be more historical, and many of his points will be disregarded by those not familiar with history or by those who actually lived the history with Mr. Vidal. I feel it is important to listen to those who were alive and lived through many great events. It is important to listen to as many voices and viewpoints possible, and it doesn't matter if anyone agrees or disagrees.

The main difference between Gore Vidal and Dracula is that Dracula had a heart.

Is it not interesting that Al Gore and Gore Vidal are related and that they are the two most ill informed and obnoxious people in existence.

I must say that I agree with all the entires thus far. Poor, poor, Gore--he was FORCED to go to Exeter. What a terrible LOT he had in life!

Mr. Vidal is an example of the devient intellectual left. WHo lives in Europe, denounces the US at every opportunity. A Pompous stuffed shirt,Len of course is in awe at his intellect and will not as anything uncomfortable. Another sodomite intellectual.

I would just like to shed a little light on my own personal experience with Mr. Vidal. I spent my junior year of college abroad in Havana, Cuba, studying at the University of Havana. During my time there, Mr. Vidal made a visit to the university where he gave a talk to a group of students of which I was a part of. Aside from discussing his career, he spent the better portion of the talk lambasting the United States and singing the praises of Cuba. He said something along the lines of "The problem with the United States has never been a shortage of good writers, rather a shortage of good readers." I doubt Mr. Vidal realized that there were any other Americans present.

I take offense with Mr. Vidal's attitude towards the US. Make no mistake, I am as lefty as they come and a proud supporter of President Obama. But it bothers me deeply whenever another member of the left-wing goes abroad and tells a captive audience exactly what it wants to hear especially when it includes misconceptions regarding the United States.

I would like to know if Mr. Vidal is even aware that at the time of his visit, only one of his books was available in Cuba.
