Update on Iraq

Thursday, August 06, 2009

In early July, U.S. combat troops withdrew from the urban areas in Iraq. Thomas E. Ricks, author of The Gamble and Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security, joins us for a look at whether the situation in Iraq’s cities has changed much since U.S.-led forces pulled back.

He forgot to mention the most important fact:

This is going to be known as the George W Bush 100 years war...

I don't think the Bush administration had any intention of leaving Iraq. And aren't we building some some huge military base in the Emerald City right now?

...the U.S.-led forces withdrew from Iraq,
probably just to head out for Colombia (as the anouncement of the installation of 7 new amercan bases there). The new war... Well, that one against the Latinamerican progressivist movement renaissance by the demonized Chávez. The conflict already started in Honduras, with the first coup of the XXI century. Having as a main player John Dimitri Negroponte and his CIA link in that country (and former battalion 3-16 dead squad leader) Billy Joya (Iran-Contra Déjà vu). What do we hear on NPR. Uhhh, nothing.
