Simmons is a living legend, and so wise. But please refrain from having this interviewer fill in again for Lopate, she's terrible and couldn't sound less interested in her guest.

On the other hand, Russel Simmons came across as being very intelligent, well-spoken and even inspirational. I love the work you're doing across cultures and working to help the younger generation.

Keep up the good work, man. Thought that the interviewer blew it and was too aggressive when you're obviously trying to do good things.

What a terrible interview. Your guest presenter is awful. She has a lovely speaking voice but she can't interview for toffee. Sorry, hate to be so critical but please I beg you, do not have her fill in for Leonard again.

Russell Simmons is fascinating and inspiring. Point taken on his public speaking skills, but so many gems come through. Just hang in there. This guy has an important message.

in contrast to the other posters i find mr. simmons to be an incredible breath of fresh air. rather than arguing points- he is listening to the interviewer as well as himself. he holds himself up and challenges himself to improve on all levels and i am inspired by his candidness and his influence.

Russell Simmons has this combative and self-defensive way of speaking that negates from the causes he is trying to promote. He does not allow room for an actual discourse but merely plows ahead (rudely, I might add) with his platform and its overall impression on me is less than positive.

is it just me or are all of russell simmons' interviews really... awkward. hes not a good interview. he will bring up something, stop short, then will start talking about something else, and then eventually he sounds annoyed or something at the interviewer.

Russell - you rock. But you can be hard to follow, you're talking about a lot of things at once. How about some public speaking training? With respect-

I live in Bushwick, BK, and I'm sad to say that the amount of water you save over years of turning off the tap while brushing your teeth is wasted in just an hour of an open fire hydrant. The problem is not on college campuses, it is in poor neighborhoods like Bushwick. On my block two fire hydrants run on full blast all summer long. Cars are idling all day, all year. People eat meat three meals a day. As the hip hop Mogul, can't you reach out to Brooklyn's poor neighborhoods as well as college campuses?
