Bravo Jim Lehrer -- a national treasure for his journalistic insight and storytelling. I have just ordered 2 copies of Oh Johnny -- one for my father the other for me. Please have him on more frequently, he is just wonderful to listen to! Thank you!
Has Mr. Lehrer ever read J. Glenn Grey's "The Warriors" Reflections on Men in Battle"? It is a wonderful collection of diary entries and journals with later life reflections of the author who was stationed in Europe during WW2.
This novel sounds really cool; can't wait to read it.
Mr. Lehrer makes a wonderful guest. When I see him on the Newshour I sometimes see the twinkle in his eye, but I can 'see' it even better on the radio!
