We find out why the Obama campaign thinks they can count on Maine in November. Also: a look at Senator Susan Collins’ re-election campaign, and the impact of the shrinking shipbuilding industry there. Christian Potholm, DeAlva Stanwood Alexander Professor of Government at Bowdoin College, joins us to discuss the issues that matter most to voters in the Pine Tree State.
States of the Union fact of the week: Maine is the only state to have a name that is one syllable long.

I thought that was a great interview. i enjoyed it. It really is amazing how well Collins is doing against the Democrat Tom Allen. I thought it was an interesting observation how Maine stays away from extremes of either party.
The professor from Maine thought Collins would win by double digits.
I grew up in Maine, so I really enjoyed this piece.
One of the local news anchors, Rob Caldwell (WCSH channel 6), from maine recently interviewed John McCain. I would recommend this interview to anyone with any political affiliation because it's the first interview with McCain that I've seen where the reporter doesn't just let him spew rhetoric:
