That is truly the funniest image of McCain. Brought tears to my eyes.
rummy left after the 2006 election not after the 2004 election!
Since the "Surge" is the only military-strategic point McCain can even plausibly claim in his favor, it would be nice if _even one_ mainstream journalist would ask how things were trending in Iraq _before_ the surge.
george bush has absolutely no sense of irony, or perhaps a perfectly refined sense of irony. george bush ducked the vietnam war. to hear him praise mccain's heroism puts a wry smile on my face.
if we could ask mccain for his feelings on that subject...bush's draft dodging...you'd see mccain blink and stammer and stutter longer than he did when asked to explain why he supported payments for viagra but not for birth control for women.
It seems that one small (or large) reason Gore lost in 2000 was because he distanced himself from Clinton. But does anyone actually think that McCain should move closer to Bush? It seems to me that everyone, from left to right, is dissatisfied with Bush. Could Bush be staying underground out of respect for McCain's political position?
