Cherie Blair Speaks for Herself

Monday, October 27, 2008

Cherie Blair was the first British Prime Minister’s wife who also had her own serious career. Find out how she balanced work, family, and official duties…as well as her friendships with the Clintons and Bushes! Her new autobiography is Speaking for Myself.

Oh come on! He was just kidding about Putin having no soul!!

I can hear Cherie's Liverpudlian intonations, but they do tend to turn these things on and off, England uses speech in more controlling ways than we do (not to say we don't use it, though)

But Kudos to Leonard for bringing up other Tyrannic leaders whom we have completely ignored, in the same breath as Saddam Hussein...parallels need to be drawn, and, as we all heard, Cherie blithely ignored the comparison, staying "on topic" by defending her ridiculous husband. Same old, same old...

Never mind. From her answer on iraq, I can see we're not going to get beyond the party line anyway.

Did David Kelly make it into the memoir?

Booo, oh Booo, Lopate. How could you suggest that Putin has no soul? That was uncharacteristically unclassy of you.

Has she met Bernie Ecclestone? What a character. Any comments on the recent revelations concerning his $1M donation ostensibly meant to delay a Formula 1 tobacco ad ban?

Cherie Blair does not have a Liverpool accent. In Britain do politicians alter their manner of speaking while campaigning. Just like President Bush uses the Texas twang when he campaigns, do British politicians do the same?
