david paterson is a good person for blak people.

Funny, seemingly grounded guy, not hysterical and seems to deal with reality head-on -- looking forward to seeing him in action!

Paterson is a step in the right direction. He has to be. Spitzer was about as far in the wrong direction as one can possibly imagine. I'm cautiously optimistic about him... although, admittedly, regardless of how it turns out, I still live in Jersey. Where hell has already come to stay.

can brian and elaine tell us about bruno and silver? are they the permanent government of ny state? are they on the same team or are they the source of the gridlock? do paterson's words about working together have any real meaning to those men?

Any Governor who has Dinkins at their inaugural speech should be viewed with suspicion!

It seems like he is making too many jokes, although he did stop. I mean, one or 2 seem like a good idea but...

I'm with Chris O. I could hardly believe my ears. We have a new governor by "divine design"? I've got to look into this separation of church and state we supposedly have.

Now it's turned into a roast!

It seems all the top Dems in the state are Hillary boosters to the max. She is the machine Dem, although the vote went to Hillary 57-40, so not a bad showing by Obama among New York Dems.

I think the thing that bothered me about the prayer and the opening speech is that they were sectarian in nature... I mean, normally it's very vague making reference to a "creator" not even necessarily using the word "God". This though... you'd think that rabbi regularly had lunch with God on Thursdays. He was giving us very specific things about God's thoughts and opinions that was a little alarming.

And yes, if you ARE a religious person, you really shouldn't want God to be too closely associated with the caliber of people in Albany...

ugh! is support for hillary as strong as that crowd would indicate?

anyway, i guess all this god-talk is at paterson's request. yeesh.

What a pathetic society that needs to fly its flag of false religiosity. You should not wear it on your sleeves, religious people (oh yeah, you are politicians catering).

Is this a religious ceremony? First a rabbi and now a reverend. I guess the imam is next.

I thought this was a state function and not a religious one. This is an embarrassment.
