That's ridiculous...the media made a determination to not report this stuff. There is no reason to think "the public didn't want to hear it". If the facts were presented instead of covered up by the corporate media, there would be plenty of people who would listen.

Alas, I have to be cynical here and think that the reason the American media didn't ask more questions about the Iraq War in '02 and '03 is because the American pubic didn't want to hear it. The British electorate had more voters than the U.S. one who weren't going to play let's-follow-our-leader-without-question.

Sorry, my fellow Americans, we can't just blame the media for this one; we the voters shoulder a lot of the blame. Let's hope we've learned our lesson and realize (as the British House of Commons does) that the opposition is a loyal opposition.

Ostensibly, the Quakers like yourself speak truth to power (as your publisher has said you did in your Amazon review) , however I disagree that the Bush Administration is or was more intollerant of dissent, than others. Any organization is intollerant when it is in decline or its fundamental operating principles reflect some kind of insecurity due to some malfeasance.
