Alla Verlotsky co-programmed the series, and President of Russia's famous Mosfilm Studios, Karen Shakhnazarov, also directed two of the films in the series, "Jazzman" and "Courier."

"Ostrov" (Island),directed by Pavel Lungin, is one of the best movies I've seen. And I love "Courier"! I've seen when I was about 20... but I think you have to know how it was to live in USSR to understand.

Miss or Ms

I would like to know the name of a Russian film I watched on TV years ago.

Basic plot: an exuberant actress is imprisioned for blowing up an outhouse (as a prank with one of her dates, she later becomes involved with one of the officials and has his child. The big shot official commits suicide at the the end of the film.

anyone know of this film?
