Just a note to congratulate you on two very intriguing pieces: firstly, the interview with Dr. Pelingeiro on her muscular dystrophy research and secondly, for the report back from the field in the Democratic Republic of Congo. On the latter, we forget how disruptive war is to the normal functioning of a society. When you impose this chaos on a country that was already destabilised by years of political turmoil and thievery, you can begin to comprehend how so many people would die in the midst of such a structureless free-for all. It is really a shame and I pray for good people like Mr. D'Onofrio and Dr. Brennan who are devoting their talent to helping the people of the DRC.
On a more upbeat note, it was a rare pleasure to hear from a female scientist. Dr. Pelingeiro is a refreshing combination of optimism and rigor. Best to her team in their research. Leonard, chapeau to you and to the producers, for another beautifully executed show.
