Professor of child development Maryanne Wolf explains how the human brain learns to read – and why some people have a very difficult time learning how to read, as in the case of dyslexics. Her recent book is Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the Reading Brain.

I have a 100 year old gramma who spent many decades studying the brain. Can i get an audio copy of this show for her? She would love it!
Splendid segment. Of course you end it on a great cliffhanger making us wonder if Prof. Wolf is making the same mistake as Socrates. Namely, is she able to recognize the potential advantages of the "digital brain," if you will.
Fantastic program - brilliant guest -- important topic. Wished you talked longer on topic and dyslexia.
