Hi. Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and so can last as much as 4 weeks if Christmas is on a Sunday. Advent music is appropriate in the liturgy for that time period.
Christmas begins on December 25th and Christmastide lasts until January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany. So Christmas music is appropriate liturgically until Jan. 6. Epiphany is celebrated in some traditions on the Sunday nearest Jan 6.
So liturgically, we three kings is not appropriate until Epiphany!
For popular usage I see no reason not to play whatever you like from the beginning of Advent until Candlemas on Feb. 2 which is the end of the Advent Christmas season. I would be more careful preparing a worship service.
That is my sense of the season.
