WNYC senior reporter Bob Hennelly covered the National Governors Association meeting earlier this month. He explains why the meeting was so unusual and what President-elect Barack Obama said to the group during this rough economic time. He also fills us in on the fiscal problems facing New York State.

You just answered the whole problem. The govt having access to a printing press. We're in big trouble considering our money is intrinsically worthless. Is this economic crisis not the result of the FED reserve's wanton printing?
The New York governor refuses to increases taxes for the rich but everyone else will have to pay more money anyway for the services they need like education, health care, etc. Typical American politician...
