Academy Award-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins has played a faithful butler, a disgraced president, and a brilliant serial killer; but his latest film draws its inspiration from his own life. He talks to Leonard about writing, directing, starring, and composing the score for "Slipstream," a dark comedy about an aging screenwriter whose worlds collide when his fictional characters start to turn up in his real life.
"Slipstream" opens today nationwide. Watch the trailer and learn about theaters and show times here.

Dr. Frederick Treeves in "The Elephant Man", Col. Frost in "A Bridge Too Far", both great performances...
Dr. Dysart on Broadway in Equus (when I was lucky enough to meet him). On tv in Leon Uris QBVII.
My husband says I call Mr. Hopkins "MY Tony". He is the quintessential actor.
I think he is still one of the sexiest actors today. He's good in anything he does!
Titus Andronicus in Titus
hopkins: titus
outstanding.
I just love that man! It doesn't even matter what role he plays-he's a genius!!
Clearly Nixon. A magisterial performance, fitting for the man who would be king. Hopkins truly captures the pathos and fatal confusion of this man's career.
"The Remains of the Day", and "The Shadowlands"
Favorite roles "The Fastest Indian", "The Remains of the Day" and "Lion in Winter"
Bert in "The Fastest Indian"
and Richard in "The Lion in Winter"
Legends of the Fall.... sigh.... Col. William Ludlow
My favorites are A ROOM WITH A VIEW and the movie about a bachelor schoolmaster who meets a Jewish lady and falls in love for the first time. Basically, I think Mr. Hopkins could make brushing your teeth look interesting.
John Adams,(former US President) in Amistad, as Trial Attorney on behalf of the group of slaves who were seized by the (US) Coast Guard after overpowering their captors/slaver-traders.
It shows American Justice System at its best upholding the Constitution of the Nation (USA)over the pressure of the Queen of Spain... and of course, Sir A. Hopkins's performance is just extraordinary, amazing and extremely powerful.
the butler in the remains of the day....
Of course Hannibal...but, for some reason I always think of him as the butler in Remains of the Day. A brilliant performance.
any of hannibal; bill parish in Meet Joe Black;
