I miss Homocide so much - and I cannot stay up late to watch The Wire, although it is great.

David Simon really is a hero of mine, artistically and politically.

Ken Burns' specials - The War, Jazz, the Civil War, Baseball- raised TV to its highest potential and yet did it in an intelligent, non-hyped, non dumbed-down the way some of cable and all of Network TV. Incidentally, I've suffered through "Without a Trace" twice and I think it is the biggest piece of crap on the airways, dumbed down to sub-idiot level.

"weeds" rules....although its kinda odd this season, it needs a little more cliff hangers like the last two years...

Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

The Wire is hands down the finest show on television, perhaps ever. More than just great TV (which it is), it is also the most finely crafted television show I have ever seen. It must be seen all the way through, episodes are chapters in a book, seasons are books in a series, it is the closest TV comes to art.

The Wire is THE BEST SHOW on television.

This series assumes the intelligence of its viewers and deals with issues that can make or break our society (education, labor, safety, and more), difficult and complex issues that are at best in need of new thought and at worst undealt with and ignored. This is the only show that deals with issues that exist in many cities, NYC as well; issues so apparent that I wonder how can people refuse to see? How can people know and refuse to deal with these issues that affect our cities and our lives?

The Wire does what television should do: it highlights things that need to change in our society. Television reaches into every home and should be used to intelligently and creatively expose things that need to change.

The Wire is on point!

Deadwood!

At some point over the past few years I found myself saying, without hesitation, that Deadwood is/was the best TV show ever made. David Milch's John from Cincinnati was woefully underrated and sadly cut short, although may have strayed a little too far into David Lynchian territory (obscure for obscurities sake).

Of currently airing shows, The Wire, and another woefully underrated show, Brotherhood. For sheer fun, the new Doctor Who.

Law & Order... or Cops!

What makes Mary Louise Parker's so appealing is Mary Louise Parker! She's a great actress and she's HOT!!!

"Homicide", was one of the best shows on TV, ever! Hands down! I was so disappointed when it was taken off the air. I guess I haven't gotten into "The Wire" as much, as it's always on so late...for an hour! I need my zzzz's!

Pretty much anything on pbs....esp: NOVA and
NOVA Science Now......and History Detectives and Secrets of the Dead.

Mad Men and Damages

"30 Rock's" the best! Alec Baldwin is hilarious. Always love "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and still watch "Seinfeld" reruns - I've probably seen each episode about five times! Also, love "Entourage" and "The Office". If I had more time I'd watch "Always Sunny in Phil.." and "Damage". I wish there were a good drama that I'm not tired of like "West Wing" or "ER".

Battlestar Galactica seasons 1&2 and the first half of season 3 (please guys...fix the show! The second part of season 3 was disappointing...go back to what made the show the best sci-fi show that ever existed!)
