War in Uganda

Monday, November 05, 2007

When the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army began attacking government forces in northern Uganda, directors Sean Fine and Andrea Nix Fine turned their cameras on the youngest victims of the violence. “War/Dance” depicts the lives of children in an isolated, dangerous refugee camp as they attempt to prepare for the country's National Music Competition.

"War/Dance" opens in New York on November 9.

I lead a group of women in August this year to work w/ women & children in Gulu, Uganda. We spent time w/ many of these kids. Previously abducted kids are often easy to identify by the blank, distant look in their eyes. The ones that are engaged in Dance Therapy are recovering!
Thank you for making this film and highlighting this uncomprehensible happening in our world.
Will the film be coming to Charlotte?
