I had the absolute pleasure of being at the Nomad SoundSystem show at Zankel Hall on Monday night. DJ Shazam's comment about visuals distracting people enough so that they don't dance was true. The audience had to be prodded to allow themselves to dance. Their sound definitely urges the listener to dance and express themselves (through clapping, cheering, stomping, dancing). There was even an impromtu bellydance solo from an enthusiastic and skilled audience member who was invited onstage. The band did a nice job of getting the audience involved even though the venue is not so suited to such types of audience participation.
I'm a little outraged Leonard doesn't know that Berlin is the new cultural capital of the Europe, maybe the world.
He doesn't know it's the most international city in Germany?
