Horsemeat Sushi?

Friday, June 29, 2007

Interesting headline -- though more interesting the first time around

(Monday's NY Times: "Waiter, there's deer in my sushi")

Many people take fish oil capsules for heart disease (for alpha 2 omega fatty acids), especially to lower triglycerides. There are synthetic drugs called fibrates that also lower triglycerides quite well. Given the current situation with depleted fish stocks, should there be a voluntary ban on fish oil capsules and more of an emphasis on fibrates?
