Rupert Murdoch has pledged not to interfere in the Wall Street Journal if he acquires it, but not everyone believes him. Ken Auletta’s new article about Murdoch and the WSJ is "Promises, Promises" in the New Yorker.

Why sell the WSJ if you still want a say in how it is run. I am not a Murdoch fan, and agree with the previous post, but the principle is that it will be his to run as he sees fit, no matter what anyone thinks. Why bother to take his money?

Let's speak about the larger issue here - the continuing threat of media consolidation and censorship.
