The West in Iraq

Monday, July 02, 2007

The West has a long history of complicity in Iraq, from Churchill to Kennedy to George W. Bush. In his recent book, Web of Deceit, Barry Lando looks into how the US helped to create, mislead, and ultimately destroy Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Mr. Lando is a former investigative journalist for 60 Minutes.

it is true our government is made up of evil people, who do evil things, mostly for greed. but the people, citizens, allow this to continue.

What Barry Lando is describing is so disheartening. It seems that that western governments, and especially our government has performed such evil acts in the Middle East, it almost defies comprehension. Where is the outrage? Where is the call to remove such evil from our own system?
