The Central African Republic seems to be all but forgotten by the international community. Many people have never even heard of the country. Over the last few months, the Central African Republic has plunged into crisis. Various anti-government rebel groups are subjecting civilians to abuse. Tens of thousands of people are hiding in the bush in precarious conditions in fear of new attacks. Akke Boere, project coordinator for Doctors Without Borders/MSF in the Central African Republic, joins us by phone from Boguila, a village in the northwest of the country. And Nicolas de Torrente, executive director of MSF, joins us to discuss the just-released Top 10 Most Underreported Humanitarian Stories of 2006 from Doctors Without Borders.
