Rudy Crew on Saving Our Schools
Wednesday, August 29, 2007
It’s been six years since the passage of No Child Left Behind. America spends billions each year on education. And yet, one-third of our eighth-graders can’t do basic math, and only 60% of our 10-year olds can read. Rudy Crew, former Chancellor of New York City schools and currently Superintendent of the Miami-Date County schools, has his own vision of what must be done. In Only Connect, he lays out his business-centered and community-based strategies.

Here we go again, education is about preparing the cubicle classes, not about educating human beings. This is what we've supposedly been doing for the past twenty-five years, but it hasn't been working so well.
if schools were run like a business, their goal would be to make a profit. which is exactly NOT what the they are supposed to be doing...notice how well are health care system is doing, while being run for profit.
