Violence and chaos are regular visitors to the Palestinian Territories, filling already overburdened hospitals with people seeking urgent care. In Gaza E.R., Wide Angle Producer Pamela Hogan and filmmaker Olly Lambert render a searing portrait of life and death inside Shifa Hospital, where war and Western boycotts have created increasingly desperate conditions.
Gaza E.R. premieres Tuesday, August 14 at 9 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings).
Weigh in: Should the U.S. cease its boycott on humanitarian grounds?

The problem in Gaza is very simple - it is a terrorist state of the very type we are fighting against in Iraq and elsewhere. Why should we be obligated to support terrorists who are committed to the destruction of a neighboring soveriegn state and who practice violence both against their population and their neighbors every day?
This so-called documentary was actually a propaganda piece for a terrorist organization. During this program the lie was perpetuated that the social wing of Hamas has nothing to do with its terror wing. See the AP piece below which states that the EU in now witholding funds to Gaza for electricity generation because it was discovered that these funds were being "diverted" to the Hamas militia.
Please write to you elected representatives and tell them that public funding to PBS should be discontinued. This left wing has taken over our public television corporation which makes no attempt whatsoever to present both sides of any issue. Now that they are broadcasting propaganda from a terrorist organization it is time for all Americans to recognize that there must be a complete overhaul of PBS before they receive one more tax dollar.
Electricity is latest Gaza battleground

On Sunday, the European Union stopped funding fuel for the power plant that produces electricity for at least 700,000 Gazans. On Monday, it said the payments would not resume because it had information that Hamas was "diverting" electricity revenues.
Abbas released a statement Monday saying the electricity crisis took place "after Hamas took over the electric company and began collecting revenues from the population to fund its militia, which in turn drove the EU to withhold its aid for providing fuel."

The usual bleeding-heart leftist logic. In WWII the Allies bombed and devastated Nazi Germany killing hundreds of thousands civilians who had elected their Nazi government. I guess you're saying after each sortie we should have dropped millions of CARE packages and sent in crews to rebuild the Autobahn and the Nazi factories.

Unfortunately in this case, the elected leaders care more about the destruction of a sovereign state and its inhabitants than the well-being of their own people.
It's quite clear that the experiences of the doctors and other workers in the Gaza hospital bear this out.
Also, equating the use of economic sanctions supported by the EU and others with blowing up buses full of children in Tel Aviv is a bit naive to say the least.

Hi Stuart.
There's a word for collectively punishing a people to try and turn them against their elected rulers. It's called "terrorism". Look it up. Is that simple enough for you?
The guests keep saying it's such a complicated situation. It seems pretty simple - elect terrorists to govern you, and you'll get exactly what you deserve.
