Islam in Indonesia

Indonesia has more Muslims than the entire Middle East combined. New York Times reporter Calvin Sims teamed up with producer/director Ken Levis to explore how Islam is practiced in Indonesia, and how competing factions are creating tension there. Their documentary is "Struggle for the Soul of Islam: Inside Indonesia."

What was interesting about last night's showing of "America At A Crossroads" is how little time was spent on the international economic and political influences relating to Muslim extremism. The international oil industry and its history, as set up by The United States and Great Britain and visited upon the Middle East, was not mentioned at all. According to the program it is America's "decadent" culture that is supposed to be the biggest mover behind the beginning of Islamic fundamentalism.
The Indonesians' treatment of their Chinese minority over the past 10~15 years does not leave room for optimism about how inclusive this "democracy" will turn out to be. Chinese have been attacked in the same manner that that Cossaks raped and killed Jews during the hey-day of imperial pograms.
Your guest statitics about who was killed in the Bali Bombing are not correct (they say Israeli's were a prime target, and a large victim group). Ths is not true, and suggest that they correct this error.
