Since 1993, over 400 women and girls have been brutally murdered just across the US border in Juarez, Mexico. No one knows who’s responsible, and despite numerous arrests, the murders continue. Teresa Rodriguez, author of Daughters of Juarez, is co- host and correspondent for Univision’s prime-time award-wining newsmagazine program "Aquí y Ahora.”

This exact story, including the tortured confessions of scapegoats, was presented in a two-part story on the fictional television show "Profiler" (I don't know when it was produced). The FBI profiler received information anonymously from the town where poor women were being molested and left in the desert; she convinces her colleagues that they should go down and check it out. The crimes were even linked to a wealthy American business man.
