Mogadishu, once a lovely, cosmopolitan city, has become chaotic since Somalia erupted in civil war in the early 1990s. Jeebleh, the main character of Nuruddin Farah’s new novel, Links, is revisiting Mogadishu for the first time in 20 years after living in New York - the novel looks at the transformations in both Jeebleh and his birthplace.
