Ruth Reichl is editor-in-chief of Gourmet magazine, and Alice Waters is founder of Chez Panisse, the groundbreaking restaurant in Berkeley, California committed to fresh, local and seasonal produce. Ms. Waters’s Edible Schoolyard Project at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Berkeley is a prototype for the kind of school lunch program she wants to see throughout the U.S.
