Sally Armstrong, a contributor to Homemaker’s Magazine at the time, turned heads when she broke from the magazine’s typical format and traveled to Afghanistan to report on the plight of women under the Taliban. She shares her views in her book Veiled Threat: The Hidden Power of Women in Afghanistan.
