John Mortimer was a barrister who tackled many prominent cases as a Queen’s Counsel, and a playwright – but his name will always be associated with his literary creation, Horace Rumpole, the endearing star of the BBC courtroom comedy, “Rumpole the Bailey.” On March 22, 1995, he spoke with Leonard about his memoir, Murderers and Other Friends.”
