Thank You WQXR & Sara Fishko for this very interesting interview & commentary! Having both studied & taught at the Westchester Conservatory of Music, I am already a bit partial towards the great masters like Mr Ohlsson (& Jeanne Lamon--Tafelmusik, music director) who also passed through its halls.
One of my favorite Chopin recordings of his is:
"Garrick Ohlsson - The Complete Chopin Piano Works Vol. 7 - Waltzes"
Such incredibly sensitive & delicate interpretations...
One more observation--& I know it is probably a moot point, given that this is already a Classical audience here; but I find it so amazing that Chopin only lived to 39 years of age, given the maturity, sophistication & magnitude of masterwork compositions he left behind...in my humble opinion, a true genius.
