In May of 2001, Joyce Carol Oates had 2 new books out; both were written in longhand, not on a computer. It has been easy for some, and impossible for others, to resist the digitization of the creative workplace. Sara Fishko examined the effect of the computer on the eye, hand and mind, in this archival edition of the Fishko Files.
