Saturday, August 11, 2007
Singer/songwriter May Nasr often focuses on the plight of the Lebanese people in her music, using songs of peace, love, and resilience to inspire positive change in local and global Arab communities. A strong voice for social justice as well, Nasr helps support local charities and organizations throughout the world with her many popular concerts.

The program that is on now -- 10:20 pm on August 11 -- is not Mary Nasr, but is wonderful, so I was looking for more information. Unfortunately, all you have is Nasr listed. Too bad. The alternative is much better.

The May Nasr segment was earlier in the show. You can find the music playlist for this Evening Music program at http://www.wnyc.org/music/playlists/2007/08/11
May Nasr was a real treat! Her voice is similar to Omeima's, another Lebanese diva. With Fairouz, these three singers are among the greatest the Arab world has created.
Where exactly is she performing?

Editor's Note:
May is performing August 23rd at the American University of Beirut, New York Chapter (3 Dag Hammarskjold Plaza). You can get more information by calling 212-583-7660.
May Nasr's voice and the music she sings are beautiful. I haven't been able to find any CD's of hers. Are there any and, if so, how/where can I order them?
Thank you so much for this wonderful interview and music.

I was introduced to May's wonderful by a mutual friend, who gave a bootleg copy of May's songs (obtained from the artist). Since then I can't have enough; and I keep asking my friend when May will have a studio recording and a cd. Please May can you do that soon. I give books and cds for gifts, and if your cd is out all my friends that year will have your cd :-).. Keep the good work and all the best.
