Our mix continues with an early (and rarely-heard) keyboard work, the last of his “Five Piano Pieces.” Glenn Gould makes for a fitting soloist in this little Straussian tribute to J.S. Bach. We’ll bring the evening to a rollicking close with Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as they perform the delightful Waltzes from “Der Rosenkavalier” (The Knight of the Rose). Happy Birthday, Richard!
