I was listening to Evening Music last night (1/21) about 8:45 p.m. I heard a piece that was so interesting and couldn't place the tune. The instruments were mostly violins. I couldn't wait for the names of the artists or the music name. If anyone knows what this music was, please respond.

Thank you.

near the very beginning of your show there was a very beautiful at times piano piece that sounded like a music box as well as morphing into a more "classical" feel. could you tell me who it was. i believe it might have been whatever was played right before the greenstein piece. thanks for the great music!

Dear Terrance, I love your show and listen whenever I can. Thank you for the lovely Mompous (and everything else). Mompou is a Catalan composer, and in Catalan his name is written and pronounced Frederic (fre-de-ric, accent on the ric) Mompou (mohm-poh, long o in both syllables). Best, Mary Ann (Director, Catalan Center at NYU)
