Hi,
I am a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn (and a NYC public school teacher). I recently started up and host a monthly series at The Parkside Lounge in Manhattan called The Singer/Songwriter Showcase. The idea of the showcase is to welcome songwriters from all over, give them a chance to perform with others and build a community of music that seems to be missing in NYC. There's a lot of people looking to make it on their own, but not a lot people just wanting to play music together and build musical connections and friendships. It is something that seemed to be a big part of NYC in the 60s and 70s and, at 38, I am too young to have been a part of it.
I am a songwriter in the vein of John Lennon, Jeff Tweedy, Hank Williams and Elliott Smith. I am currently wrapping up my thrid CD of original songs called "Circles".
I would love to be a guest on your show to talk about my music and the showcase.
