Villa-Lobos wrote dozens of piano works, based mostly on Brazilian folk music. Like his popular "A Prole do Bebê" (The Baby's Family), the "Album das Cirandas" takes its inspiration from childhood, re-imagining various children's songs as a delightful suite of 16 dances.
