"Ad Lib" is heard on pianist Margaret Leng Tan's fourth album of Cage piano works, along with a healthy dose of prepared (and unprepared) piano pieces. Originally conceived to accompany a dance performance choreographed by Merce Cunningham, the piece was left unfinished by Cage, but completed by Tan herself for this recording.
