The spirit of Berlin Cabaret can be heard in music from around the world. From the tango music of Argentina to the songs of Jacques Brel, Ute Lemper spins her favorite recordings from the global cabaret community.
my only complaint is that all of the programs did not come with playlists.
Is there a playlist for the international cabaret program available?

I really enjoyed the anecdotes Ute gave of some of her own experiences in the Kabarett realm and the explanations of the historical context from which the songs she played came from.

I learned about this series last night. It's a treat, as I'm a big fan of Weill, Weimar cabaret music, and Lemper (I have a number of her CDs).
I hope you keep this series available online for awhile.

Encore, Encore! Listening on Friday, November 9, 2007, to this wonderfully entertaining and intimate show which I cannot tear myself away from. Loved the "Der Abend" piece, so sweet but heartwrenching. Leo Ferre was also incredible. Glad to hear you love NY, Ute, and glad to hear you're sticking around! Brava and kudos to you.
Hope you'll be posting the playlist soon

I agree completely with the previous comments. I love Ute Lemper's segments on Evening Music this week. Hearing Weimar cabaret on Wednesday night, and then contemporary artists on Berlin on Thursday, I had the kind of magical, unexpected radio experience that seems rare these days. Bravo and thank you to Ute Lemper, and to WNYC for inviting her to host!

What a wonderful way to wake! My alarm is set to WNYC and what do I hear this morning but Ute's voice. Thrilled to listen to show and will download onto my ipod to share with my beloved who I will visit over Thanksgiving the The Hague. Excited about the trip but sad to give away my tickets to Ute at Joe's Pub on the 24th.
