Guitarist Brandon Ross has worked in a variety of genres since moving to New York City in 1983. When he's not fronting his electric trio Harriet Tubman, Ross collaborates with some of the world's most innovative artists; some of his performance partners include the hip-hop group Arrested Development, painter Julian Schnabel, folk-pop singer Jewel, classical violinist Leila Josefowicz, conceptual musician Arto Lindsay and trumpeter Ron Miles, among many others. In 1993, Ross became the musical director for jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson.
