The Harlem Nutcracker

Tuesday, December 25, 2007

Tchaikovsky goes to the Cotton Club in choreographer Donald Byrd's "Harlem Nutcracker." Expanded and arranged by David Berger from Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn's "Nutcracker Suite," the music features jazz classics such as "Dance of the Floreadores," "Peanut Brittle Brigade," and "Sugar Rum Cherry."
