Ilan Eshkeri

Friday, August 10, 2007

While Rocket Science features a compilation score (including a contribution by Evening Music's own David Garland), Stardust features an original score by British composer Ilan Eshkeri, whose credits also include Hannibal Rising and Black Hawk Down. The soundtrack for Stardust hits the shelves on September 11th; we offer a sneak preview tonight from the London Metropolitan Orchestra under the direction of the composer.

Please give me the name of the piece played on Evening Music just before 10 p.m. on August 10th. It was by a Georgian composer and there was a counter tenor and orchestra. I await your reply impatiently. thank you.

Editor's Note: this was "Diplipito" by Giya Kancheli. On the ECM label, catalog # 1773. Please contact listenerservices@wnyc.org if you need help finding the CD.
