Just discovered a pianist named Dave Peck. I can't imagine that are unaware of him, except for the fact that I've never heard you play him (and I've been a listener since your earliest WNEW days. His "Solo" album is magnificent.

Think it was you who told us on one show that it was Eddie Cantor
who was the first to sing "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town."
Surprise! I was some days afterwards at a social dance in Manhattan
where a relative of Eddie's told the people there the very same story.

I'm old enough to have heard Cantor's radio show on Sunday nights,
and I did not hesitate to go up to him and provide some entertainment
by singing Eddie's closing song: "I love to spend each Sunday with
you. As friend to friend, etc" Priceless memory!

I heard a hauntingly beautiful song one Sunday recently...could it be called On a rainy Afternoon...or In a moment...? And the singer's name?

I loved 6/26's broadcast, and especially the Pizzarelli version of Lady Be Good. May I please ask what album that version was from? Thanks!

To Clarence above. That song was
called "Christine's Refrigerator" The singer
was John Margolis and he was the one who produced and wrote it with Don Rosler. Rosler
wrote the just-released "Rosler's Recording Booth" CD that Jonathan plays a lot of late.

Today, Jan. 22, you played a wonderful song that I believed is called "In Christine's Kitchen," or at least that phrase was in the lyrics. Could you please tell me the singer and title of the song. Thanks.

Every week my dad hounds me to look at the WNYC(or is it WNYC2) playlists looking for the names of songs and artists on the Jonathan Schwartz show. Why don't the 2 playlists on the website list that information? On the 2 playlists that are actually listed, there are gaps of up to 8 hours and so it's impossible to find information on certain song that you enjoyed (ie: on one playlist there was a gap from 6am-8pm so songs played during that time weren't list). Also the playlist appear sometimes a week after the show so that's frustrating (compare with Z100, a top40 station that has up to the minute playlist on their website). Scwartz's also seems to mumble the artists name at the end of the song...we really need some help with this issue! The best thing to do is improve the playlist to include an updated and comprehensive list of ALL songs played throughout the day. Hopefully this list can be updated no longer than every 2 days. Second, articulate the name and artist of each song so that we can hear it. Yes, we know we can call or email to get this information but it's easier for both parties involved if you simply post the info online. We love the show and we are loyal listeners so hopefully you can help. Thanks!!

Jonathan - please try to expand your coverage of singers. am referring particularly to two of the best, Lou Rawls and Jack Jones. Even Frank was quoted as saying Lou was in a class by himself, which of course he was. And I have always felt Jack was never accorded the attention he deserved. Finally, how about doing a great guitars segment, with Bucky, Gene Bertoncini, Howard Alden, Frank A.and others. These greats seldom get the attention they deserve. Thanks, FJ

I'm dying to know how I can get a copy of Shamoon (sp?) doing "HEY THAT'S NO WAY TO SAY GOODBYE." I've looked everywhere I can think of. Please help!

Thanks for a great show!

Please tell me what is the connection between Nancy Lamott and Jonathan Schwartz? He obviously plays a great deal of her material and my whole family wonders if there was a more personal connection between the two other than the obvious recognition of a remarkable artist.
Thank you for helping to solve this mystery of many years.

Jonathan played a rendition of the song
"My Buddy" by a young lady from, I think,
Philadelphia. It was a song my Grandad
always sang and, sadly, I'm organizing
a memorial for a dear friend and feel
this version of that tune would be
poignant and apt. Please let me know
the singer's name and that of the album.

Thanking you in advance,
Trixie Flynn

I found Jonathan on XM radio. Love your show,
Jonathan!! What a terrific surpise!!
I am 58 years old, began my Radio
career for the St. Louis Public
Schools in 1977. Hosted an "anything"
goes music hour and discovered Big Band
music, crooners and "The Standards".
Ended up playing all Big Band music
and Girl Singers(mostly) in the Oldie but Goodie
Lounge for a Hotel in St. Louis.
Fell in love with the Standards.
I'm sure getting my "fix" from listening
to you, Jonathan! Love the info on
singers, trivia, etc.
Here's one for you, Who co-wrote,
with Harold Arlen, on A SLEEPIN BEE?
Catch ya later.
Susie

Listening to J. Schwartz Dec. 1, 2007, 93.9 on cable. He played a fun tune by a woman vocalist about Ohio around an hour and 20 minutes into the show. Can I get her name, and the song title and if you can tell me on what format it was recorded on and availability?

Thanks, Arthur Indenbaum

This past weekend, Jonathan mentioned the name of one of his favorite Sinatra albums. The album was recorded in 1956. What was the name of that album? Thanks

This is a really tough one but it would mean a million. About two months or so, Jonathan played a very old comic song about a difficult love affair or love moment ... it had a very long title ... and then followed with a Sinatra cover of it. He would probably recall, even with this goofy recollection. Can you discover the song, or check with him? Thanks for everything.

Jonathan Schwartz on his Saturday Show October 27 played Sondheim's "Being Alive". Who was the soloist? I don't believe this piece was taken from the Company Album. I believe that it was a single CD. Can you tell me who the artist was? I would appreciate.
Thank you,
Lillian Turchin

Nancy LaMott: Jonathan Schwartz played a Nancy LaMott song at about 2pm today Saturday July 14. Can you please tell me which album I can find the song. It had a lyric of "I remember him" as the refrain.

Thank you very much.
